Support and enthusiasm are indispensable for the continuation of preserving and managing the windmills. Therefore, the Schiedam Windmills Foundation is looking for more members.
Members are of vital importance not only for their financial contributions but also because of their enthusiasm for the Schiedam windmills.

Becoming a member
Join us by becoming a member! In this way you help preserve the windmills, so that they can continue to grind and attract many visitors. These are the possibilities:

Yearly contribution
For €20,- a year you can support the windmills. 18- and 65+ pay € 12,50. Higher amounts are, of course, welcome. As a member you receive twice a year our magazine “Schiedams Molennieuws”, full of news, technical facts and background stories. You also have free entrance to Museum Windmill De Nieuwe Palmboom and you are invited to special events and gatherings.

Membership for life
By paying € 750,- you become a member for life. This type of membership is also possible for schools, companies or societies.

Windmill kids
Would you like to learn everything about windmills, get to know the millers and the different windmills in Schiedam? Join us by becoming a windmill kid!
Twice a year you receive our magazine “Schiedams Molennieuws” which has its own windmill kids page. Furthermore you are invited to new exhibitions (specifically for children) in Museum Windmill De Nieuwe Palmboom and – if you have the talent – you can learn from the miller the tricks of the trade! You will also have free entrance to the Museum Windmill. In the windmill various activities are organised, such as birthday parties and making Easter decorations (a yearly activity).

Windmill volunteers
A growing number of members enjoy doing voluntary work for the Foundation. For example: distributing leaflets, assisting during exhibition openings or helping with maintenance work. The volunteer millers have their own society: the Schiedam Windmills Volunteers Society.
